About UsI have always had an affinity for animals. Large, small, domestic and wild.I spent most of my childhood learning the needs and ways of any animal I encountered. I was walking neighborhood dogs when I was 10. When I was 14 I began working at various veterinary hospitals and kennels in the area. At 16 I worked for Olympic K-9 dog training service. When I began housecleaning, I would often care for my clients' animals as well.
I was given my first horse when I was 25. Never having cared for horses before, I decided to attend Santa Rosa Junior College to learn horse management. After I had earned my certificate I began to assist horse trainers and manage training barns. Although I loved the work, I felt I needed a larger income. So I went back to school, became a registered dental assistant, and worked for three tedious years as an endodontic assistant. My family moved from Marin County to El Dorado on September 11, 2001. Shortly after, I met a petsitter while visiting my husband on a remodel job, and decided that was it! At long last, I had found my niche! I joined Petsitters International, did the research, filed the proper papers, and here we are! Krittersitter Service has been serving El Dorado County since July of 2002. My business is family-owned and operated. I do not hire other people to care for my clients. I often bring my daughter, sister or nieces along for assistance and education. I feel very strongly about the level of integrity and professional manner with which I operate Krittersitter Service. I care for horses, sheep, llamas, goats, dogs, cats, lizards, and birds. So far. I always research each new species, thoroughly. I administer most vaccinations for most animals. I am able to care for animals with special needs such as medications, wound care and handicaps. I have the ability to assess an emergency health concern and deal with it calmly and quickly. I also rehabilitate injured wildlife when called upon to do so. Krittersitter also performs home and property security and will maintain the health of the landscape. I will bring in mail, newspapers, and any special deliveries made during my visits. I hardly ever do "overnight" pet sits, as I have a houseful of my own to maintain and we are active foster care providers for Norcal Boxer Rescue. I always try to keep my clients' pets comfortable in their owners' absence by adhering to their "normal" routine. I meet with each new client prior to scheduling or reserving dates for service to ensure continuity and consistency of care. On rare occasions, I will keep dogs or parrots in our home since small dogs and birds are often more unhappy left alone in their homes than they would be in a different but active environment. I absolutely love my job. I never have a bad day at work. Krittersitter Service is here to stay!!!!!
